From Reunion Island to Tanzania

An intercultural exchange in the Indian Ocean

In partnership with VIJANA TANDALE - La Jeunesse de Tandale

This ISI project, initiated by the association Emanciper Mayotte-Réunion, aims to carry out exchange and/or awareness-raising activities on interculturality and international solidarity, as part of an approach to education for citizenship and international solidarity (ECSI), without any immediate link with a project to send or receive young people under the JSI or VVVSI schemes.

These exchanges are meant to be inspiring, due to their general interest nature. Different workshops/debates will be set up, through different tools, such as ZOOM, WhatsApp, different Social Networks, to carry out this project.

This programm, which will take place mainly virtually, will be made possible by the involvement of beneficiaries and partners. These exchanges will demonstrate the commitment of young people as future leaders, catalysts for peace and social justice in their respective communities.

Following these virtual exchanges, our association will also submit an international mobility project for the final phase. This first virtual contact, followed by a physical contact, will contribute to a better knowledge of oneself, and will be a rewarding experience both on a personal level (completing a project) and on a professional level (on the CV, an experience abroad is appreciated by professionals).

When immersed in a foreign country, cultural differences allow us to take a new look at our own culture, but also at others, well beyond prejudices. This helps us to better understand many situations and to develop a spirit of openness and tolerance.
